Canadian staff, organizers and reps, led by GVP Canada Dave Ritchie, joined Air Canada CAW strikers on the picket-line at Toronto International Airport. The CAW workers were in high spirits, dancing, chanting and drumming their determination to get a good contract.
A nationwide rally was held on Wednesday, March 16th by Local Lodges of the IAM &AW who represent members employed by Air Canada.
The purpose of this rally was to raise public awareness of Air Canada’s violation of the terms of the ACPPA that require Air Canada to maintain overhaul and maintenance facilities in Canada.
Union leaders have been trying to send this message on behalf of Members for 4 years. This time Air Canada Workers and their families took their message directly to the public.
